Yurt Dinner Party

All Guests

A gourmet backcountry dining experience with special guest Michael Martin Murphey (Valentine's Day only)

Event Details

For this inaugural event, guides will lead you to the Midway Yurt on our groomed trails. Once in the warmth of the Yurt, you will enjoy a delicious meal prepared by Carrie Venezia and Wes Black of BLM Catering.

Michael Martin Murphey will join us for Valentine’s Day

Award-winner performer Michael Martin Murphey will also make a special appearance on Valentine’s Day because, in his own words, he’s “in love” with Enchanted Forest. Murph is taking off a few days from his Winter touring schedule promoting his new album “Austinology: Alleys of Austin” to do some xc skiing, but he will have some albums with him. The popular artist is a lifetime supporter of Enchanted Forest and he will be coming to cross country ski and enjoy our special events throughout the season whenever possible.

About the yurt

The Midway Yurt is our daytime “Warming Yurt” at the intersection of Sherwood Forest and Sven Wiik. The Yurt can only be accessed with skis or snowshoes via a 1 mile groomed trail from the Enchanted Forest trailhead.  The trail is on rolling terrain and takes about 30-45 minutes for beginner skiers and 15-20 minutes for skiers with a bit of experience.

Our Yurt Dinners include guides who will show you the way to the yurt if you desire (these will have set departure times). At the end of the night, your servers will guide you back to the trailhead.
